Binary Player Robot is controlled by black and white patterns on a disk, which are read by an infrared sensor. Particular patterns activate either of two wheels to turn left, right, forward, or pause. These on/off commands illustrate the basic principles of binary coding. I was teaching robotics in class and we all built a robot this was the one we chose. We had a lot of problems but they were only on two pieces. 1. The motor that spins the binary wheel can't take any pressure and 2. the gearboxes for the wheels have problems but both were very easy fixes. This bot is great for beginners and all my students loved building it.
