Mini Solar building kits teach children the benefits of solar energy while they create a toy that is both fun to play with and requires no batteries. Newest member of this popular line is the 6 in 1 Educational Solar Kit, an excellent beginner building kit designed to teach how solar power is used to drive a small motor. Children use the 21 snap together parts (no tools required) to build six different working models including an airboat, windmill, puppy, and two different planes.

My 8 year-old loved this! He got this for a birthday gift last year and was able to assemble most of it by himself. The directions were pretty clear and he loved taking the end products outside to play with them. I'm getting him another robotic set this year for his 9th b-day!

Great reviews, below!
My co-worker and I had great fun "test-driving" this solar kit. We're planning to use it at an upcoming Girl Scout event.
Luckily, the day of our "test-drive" it was nice and sunny. But I'm worried that on our event day, we may not be as lucky...
I see in the video demonstrations on this site that they're showing these bots in action INDOORS. Anyone have any ideas what type of light/lamp/flashlight is needed to make this work?
The Girl Scout motto is "Be prepared," after all!

A gift for my grandson - he is very interested in science and will be going into the 5th grade. He loved it!

My son has loved this kit. He is intrigued by the different things you can make, and he is amazed by how fast it works with just solar energy.
